Effecting Social ChangeHello classmates, I’m so excited but somewhat nervous to start this class off with anintroduction as to who Amber Duckworth is. I’m a fairly new nurse working on amedical/surgical floor where I get to see and help treat a little of everything. My passion fornursing started early because of the tests and trials I experienced growing up with a Bipolar-Schizophrenic parent. Like that of Walden’s’ mission, I too wanted to effect positive socialchange which required me to start my transformation by furthering my education.I am marriedwith one toddler and I feel obligated to help provide a future that will work in favor of her healthand well-being. Gaining my MSN in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing can give me a seat at thetable for positive social change and a voice for people like my parent who cannot effectivelyspeak out for their own well-being.
