Life University Clinic System Appearance Guidelines for Student Interns January 2009 January 2009 Appearance Guidelines for Student Interns Life University wishes to provide a comfortable, positive, attractive environment for all users of the clinics. The awareness of appropriate attire while working in, or representing, the clinics allows confidence and professionalism to flourish. The clinics are open to the public and expect and encourage referrals from people who come for their healthcare. A positive first impression is essential. Constituents of the clinics (patients, staff, faculty, administrators, students) must be able to feel confident in their workplace surroundings. Professional and appropriate attire is more about allowing others to be comfortable than about one’s personal desires. These appearance guidelines are gender-neutral and apply to student interns in Level I and II; Level III student interns may follow guidelines in their PEAK, Outreach, or International clinics. These guidelines are a minimum requirement; those people who wish to dress in a more formal
