Battery Capacity Experiment Lab 4 Lab Objectives: 1. Design and conduct experiments 2. Analyze and interpret the data 3. Introduction to automated data acquisition techniques 4. Numerical analysis techniques Procedure: 1. Formulate a specific hypothesis regarding the differences between different types of AA cell batteries capacity and/or price. 2. Design an experiment to test your hypothesis- why is your experimental protocol (load?, what is a dead battery?, measure volts, amps?) 3. Determine the factors that would affect the outcome of your experiment 4. Collect data using the logging capability of your DMM. Hints: 1. Record at 15 second intervals and let run to .9 volts 2. calculate the battery capacity of the battery assuming that below .9V the battery is dead 5. Summarize your data using plots (I.e.voltage vs time) and present tables summarizing the battery capacities of all batteries. 6.
