DIG4713: Game Design Fall 2009 Semester, Dr. McDaniel Physical Game Design Assignment Overview: For this assignment, you will be creating an original physical game (board game, card game, or dice game) of your own design. You will be authoring a game design document which explains your game and its major features. Your game must be playable for two or more players. You must avoid the banned themes listed in class as well as licensed intellectual properties unless you clear them with me in advance. Your goal is simple: design a game that is fun to play. The quality of your final project will directly relate to the amount of time you spend prototyping, playtesting, and refining your core design. Due Date: Remember that no late assignments are accepted; this is due in class on Tuesday, October 6, 2009 . You will pitch your games in 2-minute mini sessions beginning on Tuesday, September 15th . You will receive feedback from your classmates based on your pitch (see next page). You will also report out on your final game on the same day in which the game design document is due (beginning 10/6). Components:
