CHRISTIANITY 2 Christianity “Christianity is a faith based on the life, teachings, death, and resurrection of Jesus” (Fisher, 2007 p284). Christians believe that God created the universe, all living things and that Jesus is the son of God. Christians also believe that after his crucifixion, Jesus was resurrected from the dead. The beliefs of Christians are based on the scriptures of the Bible. There are many Christian based religious sites throughout my community, yet I chose the Normal Assembly of God Church that is located outside of my community in Normal, Illinois. My reason for this choice is because of the religious experiences of Ed Garvin, who is the lead pastor. One of the church’s core beliefs is that there is only one God that is has eternal life as three persons: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit.
