o Interaction with psychosocial factors Ex: OCD and therapy – imaged the brains of individuals with OCD who had never received medication and found that there was increased frontal lobe activity. Then the ppl received treatment – not medical, CBT – rescanned brains and found decreased levels of activity in the frontal lobe, similar to normal Something psychosocial affected something biological Ex: Monkeys and sense of control – 2 groups of monkeys that were identical except group A had a lot of control, they could get treats and toys whenever they wanted. Group B only got treats whenever A grabbed for one – the yhave no control. Then both groups got injections that were anxiety evoking. Group B were paniky, cowering. Group A got angry and attacked.
