When planning an evidence-based practice implementation, it is important to consider understanding the healthcare system at the local level as this will allow for the implementation of the EBP in such a manner that would result in successful adoption of the EBP at the healthcare organization. Characteristics of the EBP topic that have an effect on adoption include the complexity of the EBP topic; the compatibility of the EBP topic with the work, norms, values and perceived needs of the users; and the relative advantage of the EBP, for instance social prestige, relevance to the task, and effectiveness (Titler, 2015). EBP topics that users perceive as relatively simple are adopted more easily and in less time compared to EBP topics that users see as more complex. Also, one must look into what kind of resources will be available and is the health care system ready to implement a new EBP project. Looking within the local level helps to identify needs that will benefit the individuals the healthcare system supports. It will be
