In my opinion, I believe that the factors outside of your control, such as heredity factors, wouldbest determine your level of health. Although it may seem as if something out of your control is a‘stupid’ choice to answering this question, a person can have the first three under control, leadingto a better lifestyle. However, if that person also happens to be from a long line of heart diseasesor other hereditary diseases, those diseases will determine a person’s health. For example, if aboy named Micheal was on the school football team, has a healthy/nutritious diet, and stays calmduring a stressful situation, he seems as if he is in perfect health. But what neither Micheal or hisparents know is that Micheal will suffer from high blood pressure when he reaches the age of 30,then how should Micheal know when to stay away from certain foods or overwhelmingsituations. Therefore, if Micheal were to go to a doctor, he will be able to know that he is startingto be affected by high blood pressure. In other words, catching or being affected by a diseasewhile it has still not shown any symptoms, will still affect a person whether or not they knowthat informationI believe that if you want a relationship to last, you should be able to listen and compromise withthe other person and be confident in the relationship as well as knowing when to give the personspace and time to think. Personally, I understand that it is hard to trust people after a badrelationship (romantic or not), but I have also found that if you give people the benefit of thedoubt and have trust within them, nine times out of ten, the other person will show the sameempathy and trust in the relationship. My family buys our food and personal hygiene products based on a three factor checklist: is itnecessary? Is there a better price option? Is it environmentally safe? We also try to make it so wespend the least amount of money as possible, while we do have the money to splurge, we try notto so in-case of an emergency when we need more money, we are able to pay for the item. Otherthan that, we simply choose the things we buy on a want basis. After calculating my BMI, I found that I fit into the appropriate category at 20.6 to 21 onaverage. I used two different sources to determine this and one source included a little moredetail on my BMI, stating that “Your BMI is considered normal. This healthy weight helpsreduce your risk of serious health conditions and means you’re close to your fitness goals.” Thistells me that I am healthy, although if I work harder and focus on my dietary needs, such ascutting out some of the sweets and carbohydrates, then I will reach my fitness goals. My current diet includes lean proteins (such as chicken, turkey, and fish), about 1-½ cups ofvegetables each day, 1 cup of fruits, 2-3 cups of dairy (milk, cheese, etc.), and about 10 ounces ofgrains. While taking this course, I have found that my diet is not completely unhealthy butdefinitely needs improvement. The recommended diet is listed below.
