Weinert 330A Henry Bellmon Research Center 744-6543 [email protected] Office Hours: Monday 2:00 – 4:30 PM and Wednesday 3:00 – 4:30 PM or by appointment . : 101 Agricultural Hall MWF 11:30 AM – 12:20 PM Textbook : Chemistry, 8 th Edition by Zumdahl & Zumdahl ISBN: 0547125321 Course Requirements and Grading Scale: Midterm Exam #1 125 Points Tuesday February 1 st , 2011 5:30 – 6:30 PM Rooms AGH 101 and PS 141 Midterm Exam #2 125 Points Tuesday March 22 nd , 2011 5:30 – 6:30 PM Rooms AGH 101 and PS 141 Midterm Exam #3 125 Points Tuesday April 19 th , 2011 5:30 – 6:30 PM Rooms AGH 101 and PS 141 Final Exam 250 Points Friday May 6 th , 2011 10:00 AM – 11:50 AM Rooms TBA Laboratory 220 Points Best 11 out of 12 Laboratory Scores Total 845 Points The following percentage scores will guarantee the following grades: A 88 – 100 B 75 – 88 C 62 – 75 D 50 – 62 F 0 – 50 Office Hours I will hold “open” office hours at the times listed above. However, you must call my office (4-6543) in order to gain admission to the upper floors of the HBRC. The HBRC is a secure building with access only to approved individuals via ID card swipe. I am also available by appointment, which can be arranged via phone or email in advance. 1

Course Web Page The course web page will be available in the Desire2Learn (D2L) environment, at https://oc.okstate.edu/ . You will need to activate your OKEY account before you can log in to this environment. You must use D2L to access all future handouts, practice problems, answer keys, etc. Your examination grades will also be available on D2L. Exam Format All examinations will be multiple choice (Scan-Tron format). The three midterm examinations (Exam 1, 2, and 3) will incorporate material covered in class since the cut-off for the previous exam. These exams will take place in the evening on Tuesdays on the dates listed above. The dates and times for these exams are “Common Examinations” that are mandated by the Registrar and cannot be altered. Early examinations will not be given. The FINAL EXAM will be cumulative and will also be multiple choice (Scan-Tron format). You are responsible for bringing a #2 pencil, a calculator, and a SCAN TRON FORM (General Purpose NCS Pearson Answer Sheet, available in the bookstore) to the exams . These items will not be provided. As compensation for evening exams, two lectures will be cancelled and the dates for these cancelled lectures will be announced in class during the semester. The university holiday on January 17 th serves as compensation for the third evening exam. Students With Disabilities
