The Writing Center
The Writing Center offers the skills needed to become a better writer by teaching students how to
apply these set of skills in their writing assignments. Students will find the WC to be really helpful,
however, students are expected to find the mistakes when the tutor points out a grammar error. The
writing center is located in the JPL building, and on the downtown campus. The WC consists of tutors
and staff.
“Do you have a writing assignment? We can help,” ("Writing center"). The staff and tutors are
very kind. Students feel that they are welcomed and not ashamed of showing their mistakes to the
tutors because the tutor helps the student finding the mistakes in his/her essay and gives advice on how
to avoid making those mistakes often. They have a set of rules students have to follow in order to get
tutored. The wall has posters showing the most abused words and tips on how to avoid them. They
Writing Center is open from 8am to 8 pm, but times are changed depending on the tutor’s hours.
