Procedure : Refer to pages 73-74 of General Chemistry Laboratory Experiments, Volume 1 by Robert Tatz and Judith Casey, Hayden-McNeil Publishing 2012. 8R Procedure 1. Fill test tube with 1 mL of KI solution. 2. Put 10 drops of your unknown solution into the test tube. 3. If a yellow solution with precipitate forms then your unknown white cation is going to be Pb. 4. If not, compare the results of the solution with the table of reactions. 5. Fill another test tube with 1 mL of NaOH. 6. Put 10 drops of your unknown solution into the test tube. 7. Compare the reaction with table of reactions you made earlier in the lab. 8.
