BUSN 320 - Week 1 Assignment According to Forbes magazine Wal-Mart, an American multinational corporation, is the 18 th largest public corporation in the world based on its reported revenue and it is also the biggest private employer with over 2 million employees worldwide. It is known for the slogan Low Prices, Always” and is wildly successful in both their brick and mortar stores and their online storefronts. There are many advantages and disadvantages to using the online version of the Wal-Mart storefront, such as item searching, item availability, purchasing speed, tem delivery, and the returns policy as well as ethical and legal issues involved with purchasing items online versus buying them in a physical store. Searching for an item online is easier for some people, as a keyword can be entered and a list of items are returned to the consumer, but this list can often contain items that aren’t relevant to the search. For example, a search for “hot wheels” returns plenty of miniature cars but also spits out results for automobile tires, books, and even sports equipment. Shopping in store, there are aisles that are marked with what a consumer can expect to find, and the store is divided into easily recognizable sections. However, you have to sift through a lot of items visually to find what you are looking for.
