Unformatted text preview: Using the CRC computers for running ChemDraw and SPARTAN. Use of the Mac mice: the mice in the CRC are set to have the equivalent of a right and left mouse button. A right click is accomplished by pushing down on the upper right side of the mouse. A left click is accomplished by pressing down on the left side of the mouse. The instructions here and in the handouts almost always imply a left click. Printing and saving. Use U ­Drive or a USB drive to save work. ChemDraw (this program runs natively on the Mac) Click on Finder in the dock (far left) at the bottom of the screen. Select Applications. Double click on the CS ChemOffice 2010 folder Double click on CS ChemDraw Pro. Once the program is launched, follow the ChemDraw handout from the course website. If finished using the computer, log off. SPARTAN ’04 (this program runs under Windows) To launch Windows on the Mac, in the dock at the bottom of the screen, select Windows XP.hook (on the right side of the dock) Windows launches (it may take a couple of minutes.) The first screen that comes up is about the ISB. Under Start, choose SPARTAN ’04. (You may increase the screen size if you wish) Once SPARTAN launches, follow the SPARTAN handout from the course website. When finished, quite SPARTAN and shut down Windows as follows: Under Start, choose Turn Off Computer, then on the next menu, Turn Off Computer. When Windows is shut down, quit the VM Ware Fusion program. This brings you back to the Mac desktop. Log off if finished. ...
