The endocrines system coordinates and integrates complex psychological reactions. It works with the nervous system in a constant chemical conversation. When we talk about chemicals, endocrine glands release chemical substance called hormones that goes through the bloodstream, and carries messages at the same time. Hormones organize the nervous system and body tissue. For example, puberty, hormones trigger all the changes such as growth of breast, deep voice, and so on. It also affects behavior, sexual behaviors, being able to concentrate and reactions to stress. Thyroid glands regulate the body’s rate of metabolism and how alert energetic people are. The pineal gland secrets the hormone melatonin, which helps to regulate sleep and awake cycle. Pituitary gland makes the most hormones and has the widest range of effects. Gonad which are testes and ovaries secrete hormones are the androgen and estrogen. These hormones play the role of human development. Adrenal glands affect the body’s reaction to stress.
