1.) What is operant conditioning and discuss the two factors that are essential for Operant conditioning to occur? Operant conditioning forms an association between a behavior and a consequence, it is also called response-stimulus conditioning. For example, a kid touches a hot stove, and the consequence for touching that hot stove is that the kid either felt the pain or was burned and felt the pain. So basically for every behavior there are different consequences. In order for operant conditioning to happen there must be a behavior and a consequence whether good or bad. 2.) In classical condition what is preparedness and contra preparedness? Some stimuli serve readily as conditioned stimulus for certain kinds of responses is known as preparedness and the other stimuli do not is known as contra preparedness. My perception of the reading is that the things that can effect our fear or even have a physical effect on us are known as preparedness and the other objects that don’t have and effect on us are know as contra preparedness.
