Doing this activity opened my eyes to my thoughts and differences compared to others. I know that in our society looking at the list of things would be easy to pick and choose because to me it comes down to stereotyping people. To answer the first question about the changes to US policies, I would have to say there has been no changes to any policies because our nation is suppose to separate church and state. Meaning no religions should have any advantages or disadvantages or make any judgments based on religion. We may think that they are targets at airports and things like that but from my experience I have been checked a lot and almost every time I fly, I get stopped for the quote "random searches". Do I feel offended because I always go through it? Not really because I understand the screening but I do feel they should be checking more people and not just by what they look like.

Unformatted text preview: One characteristic that stands out to me about Orientalism is orient because a person must know and follow the facts of the places around you. The second would be tied in with the orient to be inferior. In context to what we are talking about a group is lower than the other. I think Orientalism and prejudice contributes to a lot of crimes in general and not just the problems between the Muslim and Arab. But these people believe so much in their faith they look down on each other and feel the other is wrong, which leads to a lot of disagreements. I think these groups should learn the art to agree to disagree. Everyone has their own beliefs and if we can accept that and just believe in what we want and follow are own morals the world would be a better place. After looking at the website I feel the most effective why is to promote tolerance is to educate each other on the background....
