Simnet Chapter 11 Criteria such as > (greater than) < (less than) = (equals to) >= (is greater than or equal to) and <= (is less than or equal to) can be applied o Example: finding a total for >100 dollars You can set a range of values using selection criteria. o Example: >=100 And <=200 gives a range of numbers between 100 and 200 o Example: <100 Or >200 gives a range of numbers that are less than 100 or also greater than 200 When creating a query using dates in the selection criteria the dates must be enclosed by pound signs. o Example: March 4, 2009 would be entered as #03/04/2009# o For an entire month it would be entered as >=#10/01/2009# And <=#10/31/2009# Foreign Key: A field that exists in both tables; when the value in the foreign key exists in both tables, we know those records go together. o If a given foreign key value exists for only one table in a relationship, then data from neither table will be available for your query by default Queries can produce Record calculations as well as Summary calculations
