BSBDIV501 MANAGE DIVERSITY IN THE WORKPLACE – Report V2.0 -2019 2 Name: Austin Santos ID: 18417 Development of Kingfisher Garden Centre Diversity Policy. 1 Introduction The purpose of this report is to develop and improve the current diversity policy of Kingfisher Garden Centre. This report involves suggestions and recommendations on recognizing the value of individual differences and managing them in the workplace. Diversity in this context covers gender, age, ethnicity, cultural background, sexual orientation and religious belief. Diversity also include the ways people differ in terms of education, life experience, job function, work experience, personality, location, marital status and carer responsibilities. This report intends on establishing a greater workplace diversity policy for Kingfisher Garden Centre. The purpose of this policy and procedure is to allow greater flexibility for employeeswho require flexible work arrangements to suit their circumstances. In my standpoint Diversity is mainly about recognizing, respecting and valuing differences based on gender, ethnicity, colour, age, race, religion, disability, national origin and sexual orientation. Fair treatment and just judgment should be implemented in a workplace to maintain a good workplace structure and environment. Benefits of Diversity of Policy Increased Innovation. Improved overall workplace environment. Improved service to clients. Competitive management practices(including the development & strengthening of task oriented teams). Enabling the entire workforce to contribute to the achievement of Company Targets/Goals.
