Labs and project overview for EE1003 EE1003, introductions to signals and communications, is a core module in department of Electrical and Computer engineering. The fundamental conceptions in signals and communications are introduced in lectures. These conceptions are applied in the three lab sessions and a project in this module where you will get hand-on experience on a communication system. The first experiment helps you to understand the concept of spectrum. You will observe the spectrums of some common signals, such as sinusoid, triangular waveform and square waveforms and measure them by using the oscilloscope. How the parameters of these waveforms affect their spectrum will be observed. You will implement a circuit for pulse-codec modulation (PCM) using codec chips. You will see how an analogy voice signal is PCM-coded, PCM-decoded and replayed. We will study the process of sampling, quantization in the PCM in this experiment. In the third experiment, you will see how to solve the bit synchronization
