What is Ergonomics? ER-GON-OM-ICS The dictionary states that ERGONOMICS is the study of work and its environment in order to achieve maximum efficiency. Many people work on computers and sit at desks for a long time throughout the day, this can cause health problems for them. One problem that can occur is eyestrain because of the amount of time the person is looking at the VDU (Visual Display Unit).
