Thread: Can generic rehabilitation programs be adapted to meet the needs of various offenderpopulations (i.e., males, females, sex offenders, mental health, etc.)? Is there a need for gender-specific programming? Why or why not? Note: This is a 2-part question.Offender rehabilitation programs are extremely important when it comes to the decrease inrecidivism of offenders returning to communities. As a correctional professional, it is my job togive offenders both incarcerated and on probation the resources needed to address theircriminogenic needs so when they are in the community they can be successful, law abidingcitizens. In order to do this, programs must be utilized both in the institution as well as duringpost-release supervision. Generic rehabilitation programs should be specific to meet the needs ofthe offender and the population as a whole. Therefore, I believe generic rehabilitation programsshould be adapted to meet the needs of various offender populations such as sex offenders,
