Diana Bartley Religion 215 Sin and Salvation 12 February 2007 Homework Paper Christian Doctrine of Original Sin According to the Christian view of humanity original sin is a state in which we are born into, an inherited corruption. “The Fall” of man is where original sin originated from; altering the rest of created humanity a subjecting all to this condition. The Christian doctrine breaks original sing into three facets of Christian anthropology. In this created humanity is both free and finite, we are both images of god and dependant on god. The Christian anthropology also recognizes that humans are sinners, and sin lies in the will. Being creatures we are given finitude and as images of God we are given freedom of self transcendence and self determination. With this, humanity is not solely bound to our creaturliness and we have the freedom to pursue our own ends. But the question remains: how does fallen humanity emerge?

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
