The Sisters - Notes - June evening, sun setting in the woods; peasant with golden hair = Hedvika o Hunting dog barking (Diamond) and Robert (a gamekeeper) approaches o Sat down on the moss next to the beautiful girl o Hedvika doesn’t like Robert’s hat; they talk about the day they will be married Hedvika worried people would mock her because they don’t like a gil to marry out of the village Hedvika waiting for Robert to get the master’s promise of a place before telling her sister, Johanna 1 st secret she’s ever had - Johanna married to Burkhard; he treats Hedvika like a daughter - Bohumil is in love with Hedvika - Hour’s horse ride for Robert from the forest to the edge of town – goes to an English style house and gatekeepers chatter about where he was (don’t believe he was hunting) o Asks id the Countess is home - It is the Countess’s birthday, so people are coming to town to the castle (all permitted to enter) o Hedvika’s eyes did not shine. She was the prettiest of all girls
