Use the tables given by King (given at the end of this assignment) to estimate the atomic volumes of Cu and Al, in the pure substances, in solution in each other and in solution in the following metals: Ag, Au, Co, Fe, Mg, Mn, Ni, Pt, Zn. It is convenient to use Excel or some other spreadsheet to do this little exercise. In which environments do the atoms (Cu and Al) have the largest (and smallest) atomic volumes? 2. Al+1wt.%Si is used as an interconnect metal in integrated circuits. During processing, the films can be heated to such high temperatures that all of the Si goes into solution. Usually the Si precipitates back out of solution when the wafers are cooled to room temperature, but for this problem we assume that the Si remains in solution. Use the King tables to calculate the
