LO: Revise keywords for micro-organisms Match up the correct word with the correct definition: Micro-organism A pathogen means ‘causes suffering’. It is a micro-organism  that causes disease. Bacteria  This is the destruction of micro-organisms through heat  (usually steam) at a temperature of +134 degrees Celcius. Decomposers  A spore is like a seed, it can lay waiting in the soil, on rocks  or in the air. It develops into bacteria. Pathogenic  This is using helpful bacteria to break down some foods into  other foods. We use fermentation to make yoghurts, cheeses  and beer. Sterilise  This is the process of heating liquids (particularly milk) to  destroy harmful bacteria and viruses. Spores  A creature that is so small you need to use a microscope to  see it! The first person to do this was Anton van  Leeuwenhoek in 1648. Fermentation
