Kaitlin McCann EDCS 301 Monday RN #12 In chapter 65, 66, and 67, there is a focus on the rights of women, or what appears to be a lack there of. The first chapter digs into the issue of violence against women and how there is only a small blame placed on the main perpetrator: men. The author discusses how men do 99% of violence, specifically rape,, yet they hold little to no accountability in our culture. Because of this, women are seen to believe more that it is a normal occurrence and you often “hear women explaining away men’s bad behavior as the result of individual pathology all the time” (342). In the second chapter, the emphasis is on women in the social media and how the exploitation of women has grown to be normal for this day in age. The author states, which I found to be very powerful, “boys and men experience self-objectification (as well as women), but at a much lower rate- probably because, unlike women, they rarely get the massage that their bodies are the primary determination of their worth” (344). Finally the last chapter has to do with the
