Kaitlin McCann EDCS 301 Mon Daily #14 Reading these chapters, I have gained insight into many different aspects of the LGBT community, and the struggles, hardships, and stereotypes that come with it, in most cases. I also grew to be somewhat annoyed while reading the multiple chapters. Annoyed in the fact that our country and the people surrounding my everyday life can still be so judgmental and unaccepting. The author states, “ Lesbians, gay males, and transgender people are among the most despised groups in the United States today”(378). If you were to watch the news you would see crime, murders, rapes, and acts of terrorism all around the world, so it amazes me that we our still focusing out hate on such an innocent group that has done no wrong. It also amazes me, not only as a universal problem, but in house; that a lot of families struggle with acceptance of their child, when finding out they are “different” than the societal norm. Yes, I understand that it takes time to accept change, and all of the things that your child will do different, but in the end,
