Kerry Washington plays Kelly. Whoopi Goldberg joins the cast as Alice who has a fierce devotion to god, causing her to push away her daughters, Tangie and Nyla. Finally the last of the women is Gilda, (Phylicia Rashad), the Harlem Apartment manager who sees the entire ruckus. The actresses in this movie are really involved in their character.
