Philosophy Notes November 17, 2009 Affirmative Action Policy = a policy which aims to increase the amount of some policy available good that goes to a giving group Ex. Harvard Fellowship Ex. Harvard Admissions, early 1900s x X= races, gender, legacy, veteran, ect… 1. Weak AA [properly, advertising and encouraging x’s to apply] 2. Strong AA. Evaluate (taking x into account during decision process) 3. Strong AA preferential (taking x into account during decision process) Women Men SAT: +100pts For every male applicant, they’re going to add on 100pts because majority of the questions are about sex and the city…morally permissible?
