legislation to ensure the safety of the workplace. Please outline:

a) PCUB’s Responsibilities:
primary duty of care to ensure the health and safety of workers and others which
includes following:
provide and maintaining safe work environment, safe plant and structures
and safe system of work.
Providing instruction, training, information and supervision with
adequate facilities and
Ensuring good health of worker and condition at workplace.

b) The organisation’s responsibilities:
PCUBs which includes whether management of plants, constructions or manufacturing,
they must ensure the work is reasonably practicable and free from risk to health and
safety of any person at any condition.
(WHS Act: 20- 26)
c) First-line/ Supervisors manager’s responsibilities:
Everywhere, a PCUB is oblique to health and safety duty, an officer must exercise ‘due
diligence’ to ensure the PCBU meets that duty.
Timely updating the knowledge of WHS matters.
Understanding the nature of work undertaking and possibility of hazards and
risks involved.
Ensuring the PCBU has enough and appropriate resources for risk management
and their utilization.
To ensure there is a system for receiving, reviewing and responding to
information about incidents, hazards and risks.
To ensure the PCBU implements processes for complying with their duties such
as consultation, providing training and instruction and reporting of notifiable
incidents.
All in all, the officer must ensure the standard required for work health safety
and reinforcement of policy.

d) The employee’s responsibilities:
Basically, employees are responsible for their own health and safety and do not
adversely affect the health and safety of others. Moreover, they must assist PCBU to
make sure it meets WHS standard.
