Ashlei Smith Prof. Jarrahi 6 th April 2011 Short Integrative Paper 2 A) Main challenges faced by organizations due to the proliferation of mobile technologies include miscommunications between employees because there aren’t any physical cues, the collision of old and new business models where you are trying to accomplish one task but your time is divided up and you need to balance ad hoc time with structured time. The final challenge that mobile technologies bring about is the separation of leisure time and work time. Since so many people are now getting connected with mobile technology they feel the need to be “plugged in” all the time so that they don’t seem expendable; but, it affects important personal time that people need in order to keep stress levels down and stay healthy.
