Problem Set 3, Due Thursday 15 September 1. Consider the example of epistasis in the coat color of Laborador Retrievers ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Labrador_Retriever_coat_colour_genetics ). Recall that the double recessive homozygote animals are yellow with liver noses and eyes (Dudleys), instead of yellow with black noses and eyes; many breeders consider these liver-nosed animals unacceptable. Please describe which crosses should not be performed to avoid getting any of these liver-nosed yellow animals. Include Punnett squares with all genotypes and parental and progeny colors indicated for the undesirable crosses only. 2.
