Katherine Batti UNIV 350 Global Footprint Essay I would define the concept of fair and just to be similar to the concept of equal. “Fair” usually implies sharing or making sure that all parties involved are getting their share. When one sibling doesn’t share with the other, they usually say, “Hey, that’s not fair!” If things are divided equally and all involved parties are happy, there is little to no question of the situation being fair or just. I would define “sustainable” as a way of attempting to reduce one’s carbon foot- print. Sustainability is a way of life in which an individual tries to use products that can be reused, and recycles products that can be recycled. Sustainability also entails being consciously aware of how actions directly and indirectly affect the environment. This in- cludes taking shorter showers, turning off the water when possible (brushing teeth, washing dishes, etc.), using solar panels, riding bicycles, using public transportation, watering the grass after 5pm, etc.
