Kerynne Tejada Eng 134-24 20 October 2010 Essay #2 Revised Draft Between the Lines “Breath in. Breath out.” As I looked at UC application essay prompts, I told myself these two simple sentences and tried to prepare myself for what I was about to delve into. I was beginning the process of entering an important stage in life—college. As I was already stressed with regular schoolwork and Common Application essays, I questioned how I could write two short essays that contained everything that a college would want to know me. To add onto the anxiety I was feeling, I had to figure out how to write under a thousand-word limit. To get started, I read the prompts and jotted down any ideas that came to mind. I spent a couple of days trying to figure out what topics and types of stories my potential universities wanted to hear from me. Did they want something humorous, something serious, or a little of both? Figuring out what exactly they wanted was not the easiest task. I thought of experiences
