00:06 Today’s Points In the years 1872-1877, Reconstruction collapsed into failure. This process began in the North, where new challenges posed by industrialization weakened public and federal support. At the same time, Supreme Court decisions made it impossible for the federal government to enforce Reconstruction policies in the South.
