Businesses use various tools to become increasingly more profitable while maintaining their standards and being equally efficient. These tools are implemented starting at the top (management) and even the manufacturing plants. One way, as suggested, is the use of pilot ideas. This takes into account that an idea was proposed and the beginning or ‘trial’ period of the implementation is done on a small scale to see the outcome/results. With this valuable information management or supervisors can accurately decide on whether to continue with the program, stop it or make any necessary changes. At my job, we’ve used this approach many different times. Small steps for the progress of the company are almost always necessary to stay competitive and ahead of the game.
