Black women in the hip hop music industry Throughout history, African American struggle to establish profitable businesses that last and remain in the black community without being bought out by white businesses. 1 According to Walker, the question has been raised if black businesses were incubators for white corporate American to profit off. In Walker’s, History of Black Business in America, she gathered hundred of primary and secondary sources to compile the first and only comprehensive survey of black business. Walker’s documentary reported on the earliest types of business that were created, as well as recent businesses. While reading Walker’s study, I wondered “where are the black owners?” The 15 th amendment is known as one of the Reconstruction Amendments and is prohibits each government in the United States from denying a citizen the right to vote based
