Li Mengheng Li Mr. Handley Writing #3 July 21, 2011 Be Yourself When I was reading “What I Believe,” I was deeply impressed by the rich content. This poem has struck a responsive chord in the hearts of mine. Every single word in this poem makes me think about my life. When I was in the sophomore year of high school, I met an ABC. She talked about her college and daily life here, which sounded really attractive to me. So I was thinking “how about I go to the university in the United States,” but the thought just shocked me, because I had never thought of that one day I could go to another country for college, and I knew nothing about the process of a college application in the US, like what materials should I provide, and what tests should I take. In addition, none of my families and friends supported this idea. But I realized that whatever the difficulties would be in the future, they should not be the reason I give up my determination to go to the United States. And whatever others thought about studying abroad, they should not be the reason for me not
