2 In Hands-On Practice exercise 2.1 (Page 28) , the textbook has provided the procedures to develop a source document using Notepad . It has also demonstrated how to test your source document using a browser. If you want to use Notepad, follow the instructions as shown in the textbook (page 28 to page 30). Watch it! In Figure 2.2 Page 29 of the textbook, the author has not shown the double quotes in the file name . It is always a good practice to use the double quotes like " hello.htm " . Otherwise, the editor may save it as hello.txt. Before you start doing hands-on using Notepad using the book’s instructions, please read my notes in the next slide. 3 In page 28-30, the textbook has shown step-by-step procedures to develop and test your code using Notepad. In this context, let me clarify a couple of issues here. •In page 28, the textbook asks you to enter first four lines of the code. This is tedious. If you want your document to be XHTML1.0 compliant, you can open any of the source code available in Chapter 2 of the Students.zip file (such as Design.html, or heading5.html ) using Notepad (or Textpad), copy the 1 st four lines of the author’s code and paste in your own code file.
