Imperialism and Colonialism - Imperialsim : the practice of empire, running an empire, process of one group of society dominating other societies - Colonialism : refers to a form of imperialism. refers to administrating subordinating people as colleagues. direct administration of people as colleagues. making laws, taxes, and doing a number of things. - British sent own people to this colony…people of India were subjects of the king or queen of England (colonialism) - China in 19 th centuries…British fought opium war against Chinese. Manchu dynasty continued to rule, still had their government. (imperialism) B. Late 15 th Century and on- Rise of Western Europe (in global affairs)
