Ana's current issues are lack of money, and she currently does not have a job. Ana feels stress because she is a solo parent due to her husband serving in the military. Taking into consideration that she is an immigrant from Guatemala, she isin a new state with no friends and family that can support her. Ana's best choice for therapy will be Solution-Focus therapy because she needs to find quick solutions to her problems.Solution-Focus Therapy: Goals of CounselingSolution- Focused Therapy focuses on finding solutions to the client's present problems and helps them explore quicker resolutions to future issues. In this case, Ana needs to find a quick solution to her financial problems and find a solution to her job loss. Goal setting is the primary factor of Solution-Focused therapy. The first thing that a counselor should follow is to identify the client's goals to set up a plan that will help the patient lead to life-changing solutions.According to Ackerman ( 2020), the primary goal of solution-focused therapy is to find solutionsto the client's problems as quickly as possible to minimize the struggling or suffering to the client. The intervention strategies used to accomplish the goals in Solution-Focus therapy are to focus on the patient's present and future problems and goals; the counselor should not focus on the client's past problem. The most common interventions used in Solution-Focus therapy are to ask miracle questions to the patient, have the patient assess their problems from zero to ten, reinforce the patient positively, and develop good plans with the patient.Solution-Focus Therapy: Process of TreatmentThe process of therapy for Solution-Focus therapy is simple and straight to the point.
