The Boss and Sandy reach the monastery by nightfall, and the abbot rejoices that The Boss has  come. Indeed, the abbot urges him to begin work immediately, but The Boss demurs, saying that it  would not be right for him to do anything until Merlin has admitted defeat. Yet, even though The Boss  will not take charge, the monastery is much cheered by his arrival, and for the first time in the week  and a half since the well dried up, there is a good deal of food and drink and merriment that night. The next day, The Boss examines the fountain, which is an ordinary well, dug and walled up in the  ordinary way. He suspects that the well has sprung a leak; so he has the monks lower him into the  well; there, he finds a huge hole in the wall of the well, and he begins to plan his campaign to restore  the well. His first point is to suggest how difficult it will be to do so; it is good for business.

What students are saying

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

I cannot even describe how much Course Hero helped me this summer. It’s truly become something I can always rely on and help me. In the end, I was not only able to survive summer classes, but I was able to thrive thanks to Course Hero.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
