Objective: The purpose of this course is to introduce the general concept of business by using contemporary topics centered on the business plan model. Upon completion of this course you will have a general orientation to a wide variety of business principles and careers and how they are integrated in actual application in the business world. At the end of this course, you should be able to Describe the contemporary business world. Set company goals and objectives and develop a mission statement. Assess a company’s risk Explain and analyze how businesses are organized and managed Understand how people are managed in organizations Compare and contrast the inter-relations of production, marketing, and finance (and thus be prepared for upper-level business courses) Apply these principles to real world problems and select and evaluate solutions II.
