Reflected self o Who we think we are come entirely from our interpretation of others perception of us Problems with reflected self? o Other people could be wrong about us o What people say and do may not be exactly what you think o We are not very good at interpreting what other people say and do Self-verification o Manipulate appraisals Avoid people who don’t think like we do o Selective information processing
