Family Attitudes about Money Bus12 Rich Okumoto When I was younger, I lived with my step dad and my mother. From what I recollect we were always taken care of and never in a bad situation financially. This may be due to the fact that I was a child and people tend to say that children never really have “A care in the world.” I believe this is due to my parents not wanting to worry me about such trivial problems. I t may not have been trivial to them but for me I didn’t need to worry as is my mentality that all parents should implement in raising children. My step dad work as a recruiter for a corporation that may be familiar to you, called Fujitsu based in Santa Clara. Due to his success my mother could stay at home and take care of the children. Since my mother never had to work my step dad held us up high and took care of us all. We received allowance when we did our weekly chores. These included dusting, vacuuming keeping our rooms clean. Also, we were rewarded every report card. A’s were worth ten dollars while B’s five and so forth. Each school year we would get
