Green product purchases increased from $219 billion in 2005 to $290 billion in 2008. • Green products are not really “green”- None of the products can be truly “green” since all products use resources and create waste, but products can be “greener,” denoting a continuum toward sustainability. • Natural products are more healthier- Not true. Arsenic is a natural substance, yet deadly. • Plant based products will degrade in landfills- Not true. No product, even those labeled “compostable,” will degrade in a landfill.
