Natalia Choi Theater 101 05/07/11 Crimes of the Heart Crimes of the Heart was a play that felt very real to me. A comedic play about morbid tragedy taken in light humor, it was a good way to see the good in people through the characters and their personalities. To keep humor behind the hardships of life was the message that I had received from the play. As the story progressed I could see that this play's story line had a lot to do with a family line that was filled with bad luck. Tragedy struck at every corner to every member of their family yet, these people managed to find ways to find the humor in it and keep good spirits. The overall theme I felt was that no matter the hardships to keep a smile on your face in good spirits, things could always be worse. The general theme behind it could be seen through the characters. Each character had their own misfortune following them. I felt as though the cast did a great job in finding a common ground for us as the audience to feel comfortable with the play it self. To me, it seemed that these people were dealing with a life filled with misery in the best way they could which was
