orloff1 Elisabeth Orloff Project 3- Evaluative Argument Professor Noschka English 102 22 November 2011 From Beethoven to Michael Jackson Ludwig van Beethoven once said, “Music is the wine which inspires one to new generat- ive processes, and I am Bacchus who presses out this glorious wine for mankind and makes them spiritually drunken.” With this quote in mind, in this generation a sensational classical musician David Garrett made a album called Rock Symphonies. Rock Symphony genre can be described as a mix of Classical music and Rock. This CD includes pieces, Rock Symphony is a great CD because of its appeal to bringing back the love of classical music and rock to the New Generation with the use of a violin. Rock Symphony is a unique CD because it has a mixture of taken classical music hits like Vivaldi and Beethoven and adding this hip rock twist and plays it on his violin. For example, He takes Beethoven's fifth symphony and adds typical rock instruments as the accompaniment but at the same time he uses a strictly classical instrument his violin as the main lead. What he is able to accomplish in this one song is absolutely amazing. Another example of how this CD is unique is David Garrett takes Paul MCartney song Live and Let Die and puts it into a classical setting with violin being a solo and puts it as a typical classical music piece you would hear at a concert
