WRITTEN ASSIGNMENT UNIT 3 2 This week’s assignment is to analyze the case of Volkswagen and answer several questions about Volkswagen’s strategy. In the following paper you will find an explanation of Volkswagen’s Strategy 2018, including the key elements of this strategy. An explanation of Strategy 2025, how it differs from Strategy 2018, what propositions are made for its execution, and the initiatives outlined in Strategy 2025 designed to transform Volkswagen’s core business. According to Volkswagen’s annual report in 2008 (Volkswagen.com) Strategy 2018 is to “position the Volkswagen Group as an economic and environmental leader among automobile manufacturers worldwide”. This was Volkswagen’s aim even though they predicted economically difficult times. They evaluated all their models with ecological relevance and profits in sight, with the aim of growing with the right products and keeping expenses manageable (Volkswagen.com, 2008).
