Data: 1) Passive Second Order Low Pass Filter The transfer function for the circuit of a Passive Second Order Low Pass Filter was derived. V o (t) = 1/Cs V in (t) [Voltage Divider] ----------------------- R L +R+Ls+1/Cs H(s) = V o (t)/V in (t) = 1 -------------------------- C (Ls 2 +Rs+R L s)+1 The step response for the above transfer function was plotted for the 3 cases: Under damped C= 0.01μF R=560Ω R L =440 Ω L=0.5H Critically damped C= 0.01μF R=10kΩ Over damped C= 0.02μF R=18kΩ The input and output waveforms for the 3 cases are on a graph sheet in the Appendix.
